“Partners for Otoe County (P4OC), is one of 16 community coalitions in Nebraska to receive a Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG) from the Nebraska Partners in Prevention and is taking action to effect positive change. After completing a local community assessment, Partners for Otoe County chose impaired driving as one of its prevention priorities . Partners for Otoe County is taking action to reduce incidents of alcohol-impaired driving in drivers of all ages through public policy change, offering the TiPS Responsible Beverage Server Training for liquor license holders, conducting high-visibility enforcement operations, and educating the public.”

Probation, Hardly Justice for Victims

DJ Crash Davis was hit and injured July 23rd, 2010 by a two-time drunk driver.  He spent two weeks in the hospital and five weeks doing rehab.  When it came time for the man who hit him to go to court he found out there would be no justice.  A plea deal had been struck, court had been moved up and probation, and little more, were the sentence.

Drunk Driving, Child Neglect Allegations in Omaha Nebraska

A mother, and driver, of two children was arrested after her vehicle hit a snow bank.  Allegedly she  was almost three times the legal limit.  She is facing DUI and child neglect charges.  Under proposed legislation, similar arrests would result in a felony for child endangerment.
